More thingy things, I think you'll like

🥊 Fight Club, Analyzed — On his popular podcast, The Big Hit Shot, journalist Alex Pappademas dives into the history of Fight Club. I thought the most interesting takeaway was that the fictional group of guys (led by Brad Pitt and Ed Norton) leveraged a similar recruitment tactic as white nationalists: give men a fight, friendship, and a higher cause. — Spotify
✂ To Cut Or Not To Cut — In this charming stop motion film, “Dear Max: Contemplating Circumcision,” Alex Khan examines his personal history with the bris, the Jewish ceremony where the family celebrates the circumcision of a baby boy. — The New Yorker
🤠 Big Wet — I recently came across this (sort of) country artist. Big Wet’s appeared on SNL with Pete Davidson, which explains why his music has a comical undertone. I particularly liked the song "Beer," which is delightfully inane. He hasn't released any new music since last year, which is a shame! — Big Wet on Spotify
💪 More Manhood — Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri appears to be escalating one of his key talking points: There exists in the country a broader attack on men, he says. He's due to publish a book next year called Manhood: The Masculinity Virtues America Needs. It’s an interesting signal that masculinity isn’t exiting the culture wars any time soon. — Manhood on Goodreads
🏍 The Dirtbag Is Back — I enjoyed this piece about the return of the male dumbass. We’re well accustomed to it from years of shows like Jackass, but recent years have seen a spike in the trope. — The Atlantic
🕴Gen Z’s Leading Man — Jacob Elordi recently rose to prominence as the hyper-macho bully in the hit series Euphoria. Since then, he’s graced the cover of Men’s Health and now GQ, which it appears is a milestone on the road to true stardom. It will be interesting to see what he does with all that fame. — GQ
