Thank you for rec'ing The Rehearsal, entirely agree - took me an ep to get into it, but it's brilliant. Metamodern/new sincerity, reality versus perception, feeling, child actors... it's unlike anything else out there. It's also really funny to watch w people, feel like that helped my experience, was wondering how it might land alone
Yeah, it's super unique and I honestly can't believe that HBO invested in the show to the level it needed to really do the concept justice. I think there is a critique to be made around how Fielder chose his subjects, but that's for another article! Glad you liked it.
